Team Ireland got their World University Championships campaign underway with the Men’s and Women’s Golfers travelling to Switzerland to compete from 23rd June.

Archery
Following the Golf it was then time for John Smith of Dublin IT to travel to Legnica,Poland to compete in again what would be a very tough few days of competition. After reaching the final rounds of the competition John finished a very impressive joint 17th place in a field of over 40 competitors.

Cycling
The team of Irish cyclists arrived in Jelenia Góra, Poland to very wet and windy conditions. The riders battled on both days of the competition with the road race distance reduced by one lap on the second day of the competition due to safety fears. The results from the Irish team are:

Next up for Team Ireland sees the Orienteering team travel to Olomouc, Czech Republic from 12th August and then the Rowing team will travel to Gravelines, France to begin their competition on 12th September.
