James Edgar (Queen’s University Belfast) finished in 9th position at the World University Championship Triathlon in Maceió, Brazil with a time of 55:12 (55 minutes 12 seconds).
Almost 100 athletes from around the world covered 750m of swimming, 20km of cycling, and 5km of running during the championships held between 09-10 September.
Luke McCarron (University of Cambridge) finished with a time of 56:01 and Jonathan Oakey (Leeds Beckett University) completed in 56:16.
In the women’s race, Erin McConnell (Ulster University) ended in 17th position (1:02:13).
