This year all four semi-finalists travelled to the Dublin venue for the semi-finals and there was some fantastic hockey played in the three games. In the first semi-final there was a huge scare for Technological University of Dublin as they were behind on two occasions against University of Galway. However, the Dublin side recovered and came through an exciting contest 5-3.
The second semi-final pitted University of Limerick against Queens University Belfast and while the game itself did not produce the same number of goals there was plenty of excitement and nerves at the end as the game went to penalty shuttles. University of Limerick advanced 3-2 after the shoot out drama.
Technological University Dublin were very strong in the final however and hit six goals in a 6-2 win over University of Limerick who to be fair also never gave up and pushed the winners right from first whistle to last.
