Student Sport Ireland High Performance Committee are delighted to launch today a webinar series of discussions around high performance showing how talented athletes across a number of sports, mix student life and training at the highest levels, nationally and internationally.
The series was developed in partnership with the Sport Ireland Institute, who play a huge role in developing the careers of athletes and also working on how to promote and develop programmes to benefit the student athletes dual career of competing and studying.
The series is presented by David Gillick, a former student of Dublin Institute of Technology (now Technological University of Dublin), two time European Indoor Gold medallist in 400metres (2005 Madrid, 2007 Birmingham) and by Oliver Dingley current Technological University of Dublin student, and finalist in the 3 metre springboard at the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janiero.
Joining David and Oliver for the first episode is George Dockrell a student of Dublin City University student, with over 200 caps for Cricket Ireland, Nadia Power another Dublin City University student and bronze medallist at European U23 Championships in 800 metres and by University College Dublin student Katie O’Brien, who won a bronze medal at the PR2 Women’s Singles Final at the World Rowing Championships in Austria.
