  • Archery: Darren Wallace (NUIG) and John Smith (DIT).
  • Equestrian: Alexandra Donohoe (DCU),  Brian Morrison (UCC), James Brennan (UCD) and Katie Nolan (DCU).
  • Golf: Lucy Simpson (QUB) , Sarah Helly (Wayland Baptist University, Texas), Tara Gibben (University of Central Lancaster), Chris Selfridge (University of Toledo), Ian O’Rourke (UCC), Gary Hurley (NUIM), Ryan McKinstry (QUB).

Ratification Process

Athletes who wish to be considered to participate in a World University Championship event must first be nominated for the event by their sport’s national governing body.

Once nominated eligible athletes must submit to CUSAI the following:

CUSAI is the sole sanctioning body responsible for identifying, selecting and organising Irish athletes to participate at the 2012 World University Championships (WUCs). All athlete nomination forms received by CUSAI will be reviewed by the CUSAI International Committee who will compare the athlete’s competition history and achievements against the agreed selection criteria.  Only on the ratification of the athlete’s nomination with his/her participation at the relevant FISU World University Championship be confirmed.

  • Match Racing – Michael Edmonds (nominated by Match Racing Ireland)
  • Netball – Head Coach Elaine Rice and Assistant Coach Bronagh McAfee (both nominated by Netball Northern Ireland)
  • Orienteering – Kieran Rocks (nominated by the Irish Orienteering Association)
  • Rowing – Ed Green (nominated by UCC)
  • Triathlon – Stephen Delaney (nominated by Triathlon Ireland)
