Student Sport Ireland Badminton Finals Day

Wednesday March 1st the new National Indoor Arena will play host to the Student Sport Ireland Badminton Finals day, with the action getting underway at 10am.

The competition began last October with 16 teams fighting it out for eight spots in the quarter finals and all the groups came down to the wire before the top two in each group qualified for the knock out phase.

Dundalk IT were crowned champions in 2016 and are hot on the trail for a repeat of their success last season and face off against IT Blanchardstown in an eagerly awaited quarter final match.

Cork IT strength in depth shown through as both of their teams qualified for the quarter finals with Cork IT A up against a strong Athlone IT squad, while Cork IT B who topped their group will take on Dublin Business School. The remaining quarter final sees IT Carlow and Griffith College Dublin do battle.

An exciting days action gets underway at 9.30am for registration, with the action being run in co-ordination with our colleagues in Badminton Ireland.
