The 30th World University Games will be hosted by the Italian City of Naples from the 3- 14 July.

Student Sport Ireland coordinates the planning and preparations for the participation of Ireland’s high-performance student athletes’ at the Games. SSI works closely with the relevant National Governing Bodies and Sport Ireland to maximise high performance and achieve best results at the event.

It is envisaged that over 50 Irish students will compete in archery, athletics, swimming, taekwondo, men’s football and women’s football in Naples.

The students will be supported by an experienced team of coaches, medical staff and administrators led by Head of Delegation Peter Stafford (Athletics Ireland), Niamh O’Callaghan (TU Dublin) and Noreen O’Connell (University of Limerick).

VACANCIES

SSI now invite applications for the appointment of physiotherapists and proposals from teamwear suppliers as set out below.

Physiotherapists (3 Positions)

SSI invite applications from experienced sports physiotherapists for the provision of care to the Irish delegation to compete at the 2019 World University Games (WUGs). Multi-sport international competition experience is desirable with experience in working with high performance athletes and sports in high performance international competitions essential.

Applicants are requested to submit the following documentation:

  • The Medical Personnel Application Form
  • An updated CV
  • A copy of the applicant’s passport page (passport must be valid to February 2020)
  • A coloured passport photo

The following information to be included in the applicant’s CV:

  • Outline of qualifications with dates
  • The essential and desirable experience requirements as set out above
  • Confirmation of availability on the dates set out in the job description

The deadline for receipt of applications is 5pm on Tuesday, 19 February.

SSI will consider all applications received by the deadline date and will call on short-listed applicants for interview

SSI invite the submission of proposals for the provision of teamwear for the delegation.
