New IRFU initiative inviting all students in colleges and universities to Give It A Try

3rd Level Roadshows

Following on from the success of the Women’s Rugby World Cup in generating a huge spur of interest in females looking to try out rugby, the IRFU will be on the road in the coming weeks supporting colleges and universities as they start back up for the coming season. The Give It A Try Roadshows will be calling in the following venues in order to help run an introductory session for new players looking to take up women’s rugby. Players can expect to learn the basics of rugby in a fun environment while getting to know the current players on the team.

In addition to the roadshows, there will be an inaugural “Fresher’s Festival” taking place on November 15th for all players in first year of college/Uni, plus those who are fresh to rugby, i.e. non registered players.

If you would like to try rugby and your college/university isn’t listed below, please get in contact with womensrugby@irfu.ie to find your nearest club or get contact details for the rugby team in your 3rd level institute.
The Give It A Try Fresher’s Festival is open to all players, with or without a team, students may come along and join the barbarians team. Please use the contact details mentioned for more information.
