AIT was the venue for the 2016 Women’s Soccer Intervarsity recently and IT Carlow were crowned Cup champions after they defeated IT Sligo 2-1 after coming from behind to take the title. Amy Walsh and Becky Cassin scored the crucial goals in the second half for IT Carlow after Catherine Hyndman had put IT Sligo in front after seven minutes.

UCD last years cup champions had to make do with Plate success in 2016 as they defeated Waterford IT 3-1 with goals from Jetta Berrill (2) and Aisling Nugent, while WIT’s goal came from Tara Power, meanwhile in the Shield Final NUI Galway were far too strong for Ulster University with the westerners winning 12-0 in the final.
