Monday will see the end of Men’s Division 2 League as Limerick IT and Dublin IT play in this final. Despite losing out in the Brendan Johnston Cup competition over the past two weeks both teams will be keen to finish their season on a high and claim league honours as the side meet in Kilkenny RFC on Monday afternoon at 2pm

The Tier 3 Cup takes centre stage on Tuesday with the remaining quarter final between UCC and Athlone IT ‘B’ to be played in The Farm, Curraheen Sports Centre at 4pm, while at the same time the first semi-final of the competition between IT Carlow ‘C’ and IT Tralee will kick off in Limerick IT.

MU Barnhall RFC will play host to the Student Sport Ireland & IRFU Rugby Finals day on Wednesday next with four finals down for decision. The action gets underway at 1pm when University of Limerick ‘B’ and Dublin City University ‘B’ meet in the Women’s Rugby Division 2 Final.

After two exciting semi-finals the Women’s Division 1 final will NUI Galway and University College Cork clash in what should be a very entertaining final at 2pm.

IT Tallaght and Waterford IT will meet for the first time ever in a competitive rugby fixture in the Tier 2 Men’s Cup Final at 3pm. Waterford IT defeated University of Limerick in the semi-final on Wednesday last in Carriganore, while in De La Salle Palmerstown, IT Tallaght put in a sterling performance to see off Belfast Met.

The Brendan Johnston Cup Final sees two heavy weights of 3rd level rugby come up against each other as Athlone IT play IT Carlow at 4pm. IT Carlow got the better of Limerick IT on Wednesday last, while there was high drama at the end of the second semi-final as Athlone IT were one point winners over Dublin City University, with the Dublin college hitting the post with a penalty in the final minute of the game.

A very exciting week of rugby is ahead of us next week and we encourage all rugby fans to travel to MU Barnhall RFC to see some top class Women’s and Men’s finals.
