Snooker Intervarsity

Last weekend Navan Snooker Hall hosted the 2015-16 Snooker Intervarsity competition over two days. It was a wonderful weekend for Queen’s University Belfast as they captured the team final and also the individual final as Andrew McGuire was crowned champion.

In the team final Queens were pitted against a very strong NUI Maynooth team with the Ulster College winning by three frames to two in a very exciting final. Two of the Queens team faced off on the green baize in the final of the individual competition as Andrew McGuire took on John Currie. It was McGuire who potted his way to success on a three frames to two final score line. McGuire also showed his break building prowess by claiming the top break of the tournament with a break of 80 in the competition.

NUI Maynooth did not leave empty handed as their ‘C’ team were the winners of the plate final where they beat DIT.
